My name is Alexandru Ștefănescu and I am a photographer based in Hunedoara, Romania.
I studied Photography and Digital Image Processing at the Faculty of Arts and Design in Timișoara, where I also completed my Master’s degree in Photo-Video.
My academic background shaped not only my technique, but the way I see: slow, attentive, and deeply aware of how moments unfold in front of the camera.

Street photography is the core of my work — the place where my artistic voice feels the most honest. I am drawn to scenes that are not arranged, but simply happening: a gesture, a glance, a silence between people, the rhythm of a street corner at a certain hour. I believe that the street reveals truths that cannot be staged.

In portrait and event photography, I carry the same approach: observing before intervening, letting the subject breathe, allowing the moment to shape itself. I look for authenticity — something quiet, real, unforced.

I photograph to understand the world as it is, not as it should be.
